The following events are ones me (and/or my team) helped ideate and execute on behalf of our respective employers.
RTP 180
A signature networking and speaker event catering to the residents of the greater Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill region. Special focus on companies in RTP, such as IBM, CISCO, GlaxoSmithKline, Red Hat, Lenovo, and others. The event netted critical acclaim, national press, and remains an institution, attracting over 300 guests to each monthly iteration.
1 Million Cups RTP
A collaborative initiative started in collaboration with the Kauffman Foundation, 1MC is an informal, bi-weekly conversation tailored for entrepreneurs.
Lenovo Appy Hour
A signature demo and networking event catering to developers, programmers and IT professionals. The pilot launched in January, 2015, and was well received by Lenovo’s corporate strategy, PR and monetization departments. Sponsors are being sought and the event is being developed further into a quarterly road show.

Guerrilla Events
Unusual, exceptional, affordable, and sometimes experiential events designed to stand out from all that other noise.
The Mariachi Band that Crashed CES
We brought a full-fledged Mariachi band to Lenovo’s presence at The Venetian during CES. The beautiful music attracted massive crowds, and we were able to promote our applications.

SXSW: Ashton’s Box
Ashton Kutcher, as a result of his partnership with Lenovo, was kind enough to place a”mystery box” at his private SXSW party. The large cardboard box cost approximately $25 and contained a marketing message in the bottom. In addition to “PUNKING” Ashton’s guests, we took the box to the streets for additional marketing opportunities.
Mobile World Congress: Social Graffiti
To generate interest, we booked a controversial graffiti artist for our booth at MWC. User generated submissions dictated what went into the art. All in all, a stunning success that generated over 3 million impressions in 24 hours.
